Wood Window Well Drainage & Reinforcement

For this project, we repaired and improved an existing wood window well to help protect the foundation area and improve drainage. We excavated the window well to create proper clearance below the foundation opening, then shaped the area to slope water away from the home. We also added drainage “steps,” installed landscape fabric, and filled the window well and steps with matching 1 1/2" crushed granite for a clean, finished look.

To help prevent future movement in the wood window well, we re-secured and replaced components as needed, then added custom 1/4" steel angle and bracing for extra strength. The steel was painted black before installation to match the existing window well cover. Once the repair and reinforcement work was complete, all debris was removed and the area was left clean, stable, and ready to perform better long term.
